With a 45-degree-tilted cone screen to make orthogonal shift of the beam into a ring of a pipe from outside, the outer surface of the pipe wall can be fully covered by one-time scan.

With the probe contacted onto end of the bolt, the screw threads around can be all covered, providing graphic feedback for judging the defects visually, as an ideal substitute to conventional measure.
